SORKI equips individuals with the skills and tools they need to successfully capitalize on the forces and events that shape their world, allowing them to become architects of the future within their area of responsibility. Proper communication is by far one of the greatest tools for reaching the ends of our aspirations. Whether it is a job interview, a class presentation, a casual conversation with colleagues, or a pitch, our measure of success will most likely be founded on our ability to pass on messages with precision, and clarity. The SORKI Initiative sets out to build better communicators and leaders.

Why We Do What We Do
SORKI Initiative harnesses individuals’ talent and skills to expand opportunities. From engaging with leading subject matter experts to forging valuable relationships with peers, SORKI empowers individuals to thrive.
Africa’s social, cultural, and economic context does not afford many people the luxury to explore and develop their potential and pursue a plethora of opportunities. As such, systemic and growing inequity manifests as gaps in opportunity and networks. Attempts to bridge the gap are woefully inadequate.
How We Do It
SORKI Fellowship
We understand the potential of socialization and therefore create such opportunities through our fellowship program. The fellowship is a unique platform for like-minded individuals to share ideas and collaborate on special projects in a safe space for a period of six months.
Law & Advocacy
At SORKI’s law and advocacy program, the courtroom becomes your classroom as you assume the role of trial attorney and battle for justice. The program incorporates a range of opportunities to practice hands-on oral advocacy and brief writing skills, while also giving students, alumni, and practitioners a forum for networking and collaboration.
For three months, SORKI works hand-in-hand with young lawyers to hone moot court skills including; examining the evidence, researching the issues, and building your case. After being coached by our team, the young lawyers end the program with an oral argument in front of visiting judges.
